The 5-Minute Window: Presentations & Public Speaking

In most rooms, you don't have an hour. You have five minutes before the decision-maker checks out, glances at their phone, or moves the meeting along. The people who succeed in that window don't talk more — they talk better.

The 5-Minute Window is a hands-on workshop for professionals who need to present under pressure: to the board, at the offsite, on stage, or on a Zoom call with 40 faces staring back. It replaces the usual slide-heavy, caveat-laden style with a sharper approach — one that respects your audience's time and earns their attention.

Who it's for

Executives and senior leaders

Who present to boards, clients, or leadership teams and need every minute to count.

Founders and entrepreneurs

Pitching to investors, partners, or journalists — where the first 60 seconds often decide everything.

Team leads and managers

Running town halls, all-hands, or cross-functional updates in front of people who are half-listening.

Subject-matter experts

Technical specialists who need to translate depth into something a time-poor audience can act on.

What you'll walk away with

Programme overview

Part 1

Presenting to convince

  • Structuring a complex argument so a time-pressed audience can follow — and decide
  • Making complex content simple (but never simplistic)
  • Reading and adapting to senior or high-stakes audiences
Part 2

Speaking with credibility

  • Delivery that carries authority — pace, energy, and the calm that earns attention
  • Avoiding the flat-line — modulating voice so even a technical subject stays alive
  • Holding the room's focus all the way to the close
Part 3

Handling questions under pressure

  • A strategy for answering any question — including the ones you were hoping not to get
  • Holding steady eye contact in the uncomfortable moments where most presenters retreat
Part 4

Making the habits stick

  • A final presentation recorded on camera, with feedback that targets the two or three things that will move the needle most
  • Your personal follow-up plan — the specific shifts to practise over the next three weeks

What participants say

More from the room

I walked in thinking I presented well. I walked out with four specific habits I'd never noticed. My next board update ran eight minutes shorter and landed harder.

Matt doesn't just teach presentation skills — he rewires how you think about the audience. That's a much bigger gift.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to give a real presentation during the workshop?

Yes — and that's the point. Everyone presents at least once on camera, often twice. You get specific, personal feedback you can apply immediately. The environment is supportive: we're not looking for performance, we're looking for progress.

What if our team presents in both English and Spanish?

Both work. Matt delivers and coaches in English and Spanish, and participants can present in either language. Most corporate groups in Madrid run bilingually without issue.

Can this be tailored to our specific industry or audience?

Always. Pre-work includes a short briefing call so the examples, case studies, and feedback are calibrated to your world — whether that's banking, pharma, legal, tech, or public sector.

Is this just for senior leaders?

No. The 5-Minute Window works for anyone who presents — from a first-year analyst pitching an idea to a VP addressing the board. We run it for intact teams where seniority is mixed, and for cohorts of similar-level peers.

How many participants is ideal?

Sweet spot is 8–12. Fewer than 6 and the peer-feedback loop suffers; more than 16 and personal feedback quality drops. For larger groups we run parallel cohorts or break into tracks.
